Who we are
Ask Clarisa is a work style assessment tool operated by Ask Clarisa ("we," "us," or "our"). Our website is clarisahr.com. You can reach us at hello@clarisahr.com with any questions about this policy.

What information we collect
We collect only the information necessary to provide the service:
- Account information — your email address when you create an account, either directly or via Google Sign-In. If you use Google, we receive your name and email from Google.
- Assessment responses — your answers to the Ask Clarisa Work Style Assessment. These are used solely to generate your archetype result and are associated with your account.
- Job descriptions you submit — text you paste into the job description analysis feature. This is used to generate your fit report and is stored with your account history.
- Payment information — if you purchase a report bundle, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details. We receive only a transaction confirmation and the bundle purchased.
- Usage data — basic information about how you use the service, collected via our hosting provider (Netlify). This includes page visits and function calls but not personally identifiable browsing behavior.

How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Generate and display your work style archetype and fit reports
- Save your results so you can access them when you return
- Track your report credits and process purchases
- Send you transactional emails related to your account (sign-in links, purchase confirmations)
- Improve the product based on aggregate, anonymized usage patterns
We do not use your information for advertising, behavioral tracking, or any purpose beyond operating Ask Clarisa.

What we don't do
- We do not sell your personal information to anyone, ever
- We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers
- We do not use your assessment responses to train AI models
- We do not share your job description submissions with employers or third parties
- We do not send marketing emails without your explicit consent

Third-party services
Ask Clarisa uses the following third-party services to operate:
- Supabase — stores your account data, assessment results, and report history. Data is stored on Supabase's secure infrastructure.
- Stripe — processes payments. Stripe's privacy policy governs how your payment information is handled.
- Anthropic (Claude API) — generates your job description fit reports. Job descriptions you submit are processed by Anthropic's API in accordance with their usage policy. They are not used to train models.
- Google OAuth — if you choose to sign in with Google, your authentication is handled by Google. We receive only your name and email.
- Netlify — hosts the application and processes function requests.
- Formspree — processes email waitlist submissions.

Data retention
We retain your account data and report history for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data and report history will be deleted from our systems within 30 days.
Aggregate, anonymized data (such as overall archetype distribution across users) may be retained indefinitely as it contains no personally identifiable information.

Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Export your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent at any time by closing your account

Cookies and tracking
Ask Clarisa uses only essential cookies required to maintain your login session. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics beyond basic hosting-level usage data.

Children's privacy
Ask Clarisa is intended for adults in the workforce. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and notify registered users by email. Continued use of Ask Clarisa after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
